IPCELERATE INTRODUCES IPSESSION NG

Next generation of IPsession offers enhanced personal user experience through a modular, Web-services oriented suite of applications for the desktop phone and mobile devices

September 21, 2009

IPcelerate, Inc. announced today the next generation of its flagship IPsession platform, IPsession NG. Built on the new NIPA 2.0 framework, IPsession NG brings an even more robust suite of business solutions to the IP desktop phone, mobile smart phones and desktop business applications.

On the network, IPsession NG incorporates a Web Services module provided by the NIPA 2.0 framework, allowing IPsession to interact with social networking and business communications applications. At the desktop, IPsession NG includes two new modules: IPconcierge and the Mass Messaging Module. IPconcierge is a Midlet-based personal application suite that will run on IP phones, delivering a personalized user experience through a fully touch screen QWERTY keyboard, touch-screen writing, and personal contact and messaging groups providing an innovative way of delivering text, voice and digitized notes using IP phones. The Mass Messaging Module is a business communications application based on NIPA 2.0’s alert, notification and messaging engine. Mass Messaging enables companies to create a specific response for managing an event that involves multiple steps and actions, and then initiate that response with the touch of a single button or icon on the IP phone.

Mass Messaging extends unified communications into all aspects of a company, making it a more relevant and viable investment. It touches many initiatives within a company focused around safety, revenue, customer service–it impacts the entire organization,” commented Kevin Brown, CEO and President of IPcelerate, Inc. “Utilizing Mass Messaging, a manufacturer can receive new inventory at their warehouse, and with the touch of an icon, send text notifications to every member of the sales team and initiate a dial-out program to customers with back orders. A school can respond quickly to a bomb threat by touching a single icon, at which time text messages are sent to all teachers to evacuate the building and a conference call is established with all first responders.”

IPconcierge is designed to enhance the IP phone user’s experience and make it easier to use an IP phone in a more effective manner. It creates a new personal messaging environment by allowing users to create and manage text, visual and audible notes, create personal reminders, and manage personal contacts and contact groups from their desktop phone without requiring assistance from the IT or administrative staff.

“We created IPconcierge to give a highly personalized UC experience to desktop IP phone users. Using IPsession NG’s Web Services and Midlet-based technologies, we can now run applications directly on the IP phone, eliminating the requirement for end users to constantly seek out help from network administrators when they wish to access, configure and use various UC features,” stated Alok Jain, Chief Technology Officer for IPcelerate. “Now a user can create a message group for his sales team and then send out text and voice messages to that group, using the QWERTY keyboard on his IP phone. Another manager can also – from her desktop or mobile device - initiate a conference call with her team, record that call, and then forward that recording as a phone message to the employee who missed the call. And they can do all of this without reaching out to the IT department or staff.”

The Web Services module will extend the full range of embedded IPsession solutions into social networking applications, fundamental business process software applications and to mobile devices. Web Services will bring IPsession capabilities to the iPhone, combining personal socialization with corporate resources for the mobile user. (see separate press release for details).

Because of the enhancements made within the NIPA 2.0 framework, IPsession NG will provide new revenue opportunities for service providers and partners. Enhancements to IPcelerate’s IPfusion drag-and-drop IDE engine allows partners to easily create Mass Messaging and Midlet-based solutions for customers that can be implanted in a more managed and recurring fashion.
