IPCELERATE DEPLOYS ENHANCED VOIP BUSINESS SOLUTION FOR PRAIRIE ISLAND INDIAN COMMUNITY
Enhanced Communications Improves Safety
August 7, 2006
IPcelerate, Inc., a provider of advanced communications-based software applications, announced today the installation and deployment of a community-impacting VoIP solution for the Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Government. The new communications solution leverages IPsession, IPcelerate’s VoIP applications platform, for outdialing in emergency situations, as well as IPstudio for session call recording.
Prairie Island Indian Community, located in Welch, MN, participated in an Application Discovery Workshop with IPcelerate in order to identify and solve critical communications needs within its community. The recently installed VoIP system now allows for efficient and timely emergency notification to all 150 community member households in the community, as well as direct communication between residents and the Prairie Island Police Department, and on-demand call recording and voicemail preservation within governmental facilities.
“The ability to positively impact community-wide communication and provide a safer environment for residents is yet another clear illustration of the true power of application-enabled VoIP,” stated Kevin Brown, CEO of IPcelerate. “VOIP applications are changing the way businesses operate. We are now extending that impact to how a local township communicates with its residents and enhancing how the community functions. The definition of a ‘phone system’ has evolved into something much more than a simple handset.”
Future deployments for Prairie Island will include a community wireless system and a situational awareness solution.
